I’ve been looking for a place to make balloon animals for children while I spend time in Puerto Vallarta, and it seems that opportunities are everywhere, even at the Oxxo which is similar to a 7-11 or quick mart. One morning I went into Oxxo to buy a cup of coffee and Sister Rosaria was also there and I asked her in Spanish ofcourse, if she knew where I might go. She immediatly walked me to this beautiful church and said that they were having an event on March 1st. This is the day before the children take communion and the older children are confirmed.
What started as 20 kids, rapidly grew to 25, 30 with a final count of 40. They had their choice of a dog; monkey; heart, snake, fish, angel, magic wand, giraffe or parrot. The children were lovely and since the Church is open to visitors, one man actually walked up to and said “God bless you” I have to say that I was touched. It was as if the adults were enjoying themselves as much as the children!
I would like to thank my friend Trudie for taking such lovely photos.
